Magdalena
Zawadzka
She graduated in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. After graduation she moved to Warsaw, where she focused on painting decorative fabrics.
Her next stop was Rome, where she joined the artists group Centro Pittori via Margutta. During her stay in Rome she developed her "naive" style of painting, a style which she adopted as her own technique in presenting her favourite themes - nature scenes depicting animals, birds and from time to time people. Her next and last stop in Italy was Genoa.
In 1975 she moved to Sao Paulo in Brazil, where her painting style reflected the exotic nature of Brazilian landscapes. In 1997 she moved to New York City and applied her unique style to colorful portraits of the city. She continues to paint, exhibit and take part in the life of Polish art.
Magdalena Zawadzka has exhibited her paintings at numerous individual and collective exhibitions in Poland: USA, Brazil, Italy, Poland, France, Canada, Denmark and Japan.
